Ambassador Barbara barrett & Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Washington Center Launch

Arizona State University launches its newest Barrett & O’Connor Washington Center in mid March by hosting an invitational panel discussion.  Presented by the Ira A. Schools of Engineering, the event consists of faculty from from its very own Schools of Engineering as well as panelists from mission-based government agencies.  While expanding ASU’s presence in Washington D.C., this event administered various panel discussions–intertwining bright minds and innovative ideas to produce a one-of-a-kind learning experience.  Dr. Aditi Chattopadhyay contributed to the event as she offered substantial input serving as a delegated panelist. More..

Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP)

In April 2007, Professor Aditi Chattopadhyay was awarded a $545,200 grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research jointly with co-PIs, Pedro Peralta and Jun Wei. This project is under the auspices of the Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP), and involves studying how structural fatigue in metallic materials begins and spreads. more..


Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) Program on Structural Health Monitoring and Prognosis of Aerospace Systems

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research awarded a Department of Defense (DoD) Multidisciplinary University research Initiative (MURI) program grant to Arizona State University in May 2006, potentially totaling about $6 million over five years. The leading principal investigator is the AIMS center director, Aditi Chattopadhyay. Co-principal investigators are Douglas Cochran, Antonia Papandreou-Suppappola and Pedro Peralta. The participating universities are Johns Hopkins University, the University of Southern California, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. more..

Arizona State University received a $670,000 grant from NASA to help promote the health and safety of the nation’s aeronautics community.
